Mindset Coaching

Having recently qualified as a certified mindset coach, training in the Unbreakable Mindset Method, I am now offering coaching for creatives who struggle with self-esteem and low confidence. I took this coaching myself, and it was in every way transformational. But what does that even mean?

Full Transformation

The Unbreakable Mindset Method is a 12 session process, exploring why you are stuck in the first place. It uncovers where your limiting beliefs actually come from, and gently reprograms these beliefs to work with you, not against you. If you struggle with overwhelm, being seen/heard, low self confidence or self worth, mindset coaching can help!

How Does It Work?

We'll work together closely to unlock those thought patterns that might be keeping you stuck. Each session will build in a new tool to help you with reprogramming. It's like going back to Primary School, but for your brain! I'll be your gentle, supportive teacher, helping you challenge your beliefs, one thought at a time. It's not easy, and there will be homework! However, helping you do 'the work' is my life's mission. 

What Do I Have To Do?

The programme is 12 sessions long, lasting around 7-8 months in total. We'll work closely together at the start, having weekly sessions, where we'll be exploring your upbringing and your subsequent beliefs and thought patterns. Identifying what keeps you stuck and challenging these with new mindset tools and gentle practice over time, we'll begin spreading the sessions out, to allow some life to happen in-between.

What Mindset Coaching
Can Help With

You may have heard of coaching or life coaching, and are wondering what's the difference? Life Coaching seeks to understand what your goals are, and in most cases will employ a programme of sessions to keep you accountable to that goal. It can work for big things like 'writing a book,' or renovating a house. 

​

Mindset Coaching explores why you were stuck in the first place, why you can't do that yourself. Your Mindset is made up of recurring thoughts and beliefs, installed at an early age, that writes the rules of the world around you, and the behaviour of you within it. Many of these beliefs are negative. "I'm not smart enough." "People like me can't do things like that." "I'm too old." You might have picked these up from your parents, you might have picked these up from TV, and let's face it, you might have picked these up from a lifetime of conditioning.

 

The Unbreakable Mindset Method is a system of unpacking these beliefs, working against them to start stacking evidence that they're not true, and start living a life believing new, empowering beliefs.

Where I came from...

From Crisis Care
to Coaching
...

I didn't have becoming a coach on my bingo card to be honest, but in 2020, I went through a life altering event, and nothing has quite been the same since. 

​

I have always struggled with Generalised Anxiety Disorder in my adulthood. I'd been on anxiety and depression medication for 15 whole years! Having suffered some major traumas in my early years (the loss of a sibling, and my parents subsequent struggles with alcohol and domestic violence, among others) I became an increasingly anxious young adult. 

​

My anxiety manifested as 'gut troubles' to put it quite mildly, and I lived a life of avoidance. I was always teetering on the edge of my next panic attack. Struggling with something so physical was exhausting. During my worst years, I would jump out of my skin at the sound of letters coming through the letter box. I really struggled with 'being seen,' both wanting desperately to be seen, and desperately wanting to be invisible. 

​

I tried absolutely everything. 

​

And trying things really has become one of my super powers! But having been through years and years of CBT, Counselling, Clinical Hypnotherapy, medications, Nutrition Therapy, Stress Management and many, many more, I was convinced I was truly unfixable. Everything worked for a little while. Until it didn't again, and I was back to square one. 

​

In 2020, I found myself alone, in an attic flat, living through one of the most impactful times of our lives. In a new country (for a "dream job") I ran out of meds, couldn't sleep a wink for weeks, glued to the news. I couldn't take one more day on this earth. I truly felt I couldn't live even one more second. 

​

Thank all the luck in the world, a local GP personally came to my flat, took me into her car and drove me to the local hospital - where I remained in crisis care for 5 days - and kickstarted the new rest of my life. I am still raw with emotion thinking about this moment. 

A new path...

There are two amazing and major things that came out of this rock bottom point for me.

 

One, my journey into mindset coaching, being coached by Jude Daunt one-to-one, using the exact same method that I am now trained in, as well as being living proof that it worked for me.

 

Two, a fantastic, joyful, exciting and adventurous life I love, filled with kayaking, new friends, saying YES and some of the highlights of my career. 

​

And a secret third thing, which I almost daren't say out loud incase my gut hears me, but living without IBS symptoms! 

​

It's like a game of Jenga. The thing that kept causing all my pieces to fall to the ground, was a wobbly little jenga block, right at the bottom of it all.

 

My mindset. My beliefs.

 

My belief that it was always going to be this way. I would always suffer.

Life is hard, and that's just the way it is.
